The military has arrested Air Force Sgt. David Gutierrez, a 20-year military veteran accused of having unprotected sex with partners he met at "swinger" parties in central Kansas, even though he knew he was HIV positive. The Air Force Office of Special Investigations said Tuesday the 43-year-old airman has not been charged but was ordered into pretrial confinement at a military jail on McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita by his commander while the investigation continues. Timing of Attendant's Injury in Question

A Brooklyn couple who pre-boarded JetBlue Flight 1052 on Monday said flight attendant Steven Slater's forehead was bleeding before all but one other passenger was allowed on the plane. Their account is the most recent to cast doubt on the flight attendant's version of the events that led to his now-famous exit via the plane's emergency chute. Marta and Rudyard Crichlow, who were returning from visiting family in Pittsburgh, were allowed on the flight early because they were traveling with their 20-month-old daughter, Grace. Ms. Crichlow said the plane was "empty' save one other passenger, a curly-haired man wearing eyeglasses....

Global AIDS Activists Pine For President Bush

The Washington Post reported yesterday on the frustration and anger among international AIDS charities with the White House. The groups argue that President Obama’s administration has reneged on pledges to fund antiretroviral therapy programs. The programs have been big successes in Africa, which faces epidemic levels of infection. “In sub-Saharan Africa, antiretroviral therapy, much of it paid for by the U.S. government, is resurrecting whole communities,” the Post reports. That progress is endangered, the charities say, by a shortage of funds. They now long for the good old days of ... the previous administration.

Impacts of Illegal Immigration: Diseases

Legal immigrants are required to have medical screening to ensure that they do not bring any contagious diseases into the United States. Illegal aliens are not screened and many are carrying horrific third world diseases that do not belong in the USA. Many of these diseases are highly contagious and will infect citizens that come in contact with an infected illegal alien. This has already happened in restaurants, schools, and police forces. Malaria was eradicated from the USA in the 1940s but recently there were outbreaks in southern California, New Jersey, New York City, and Houston. Additionally, Malaria tainted blood...
